The climate protection performance of the forest and the human contribution to the ecosystem must be rewarded. By selling ecosystem certificates, the Ecosystem Value Alliance Foundation (eva foundation) activates investments from the private sector for the future task of forest adaptation.
The forest climate standard
The Forest Climate Standard was developed for areas in Germany and thus takes into account regional requirements for a climate-friendly and sustainable forest. This results in high-quality certificates from Germany.
The full version of the forest climate standard has been available since October 2023.
Developing climate protection projects
The forest climate standard with the forest reconstruction method is suitable for farms that have been reforesting calamity areas since September 2021 or are planning to do so. Farms with areas of pure stands can use the forst adaptation method to convert them into structurally diverse mixed forests.
Certificates from the forest
eva certificates enable the co-financing of climate-resilient forests in Germany through the commitment of companies. Forest owners generate direct income on the voluntary emissions market and companies strengthen regional climate protection projects with their commitment.
The valorization of ecosystem services

Acceptance through dialog
With the founding of the Forest Climate Council, eva has established a multi-stakeholder dialog that combines the interests and practical experience from the forest, market, science & technology and public & civil society sectors.
