Our mission

A forest climate standard for Europe's forests - eva makes climate protection for forests economically accessible via climate certificates.

Private capital is invested in nature conservation through eva certificates to finance the restoration, transformation and management of climate-resilient forests in Germany and Europe.

By purchasing eva certificates, companies can actively support regional climate protection projects and achieve voluntary emissions targets at the same time.

NEWS January 2026

eva certificates receive the ICROA endorsement (conditional*)

eva service GmbH sets another milestone for the highest quality and credibility in the voluntary carbon market: eva certificates have received the internationally recognized Conditional Endorsement from ICROA!

This means that our climate protection projects in German and European forests meet the highest standards of transparency, additionality, independent verification, and long-term climate impact. Companies benefit from regional, traceable, and particularly credible climate protection solutions—with measurable added value for the climate, biodiversity, and sustainable forest management.

* A conditional endorsement is a "conditional recognition." This is given to standards that meet the ICROA criteria for recognition but have not yet achieved full operationalization of the program, for example because not all projects have been registered or credits have been issued. ICROA-accredited organizations can use emission credits from conditionally recognized standards and are thus code-compliant.

The forest climate standard

The Forest Climate Standard was developed for areas in Germany and thus takes into account regional requirements for a climate-friendly and sustainable forest. This results in high-quality certificates from Germany.

The full version of the forest climate standard has been available since October 2023.

Developing climate protection projects

The forest climate standard with the forest reconstruction method is suitable for farms that have been reforesting calamity areas since September 2021 or are planning to do so. Farms with areas of pure stands can use the forst adaptation method to convert them into structurally diverse mixed forests.

Certificates from the forest

eva certificates enable the co-financing of climate-resilient forests in Germany through the commitment of companies. Forest owners generate direct income on the voluntary emissions market and companies strengthen regional climate protection projects with their commitment.

Acceptance through dialog

With the founding of the Forest Climate Council, eva has established a multi-stakeholder dialog that combines the interests and practical experience from the forest, market, science & technology and public & civil society sectors.
