Forest Climate Standard Draft, Version 1.0
The first eva standard, the forest-climate standard, went into public consultation as version 1.0. This standard forms the basis for various methods that follow the eva's accreditation guidelines, in particular the Forest Reconstruction and Restoration method.
From 26 June to 24 July 2023 , the Forest Climate Standard was open to the interested public and committed organizations for feedback, during which time the Forest Climate Standard was accessible and feedback could be submitted.

The comments from all public consultations are reviewed. They flow into feedback documentation and are anonymized after the public consultation with a response from the secretariat of the Forest Climate Standard published.
Forest Climate Standard Draft, Version 0.3
Version 0.3 of the Forest Climate Standard went out for public consultation.
From 01 August to 31 August 2022 , the Forest Climate Standard including the Forest Reconstruction Method was open to the interested public and committed organizations for feedback. was available for viewing and feedback during this period.

The comments from all public consultations are reviewed. They flow into feedback documentation and are anonymized after the public consultation with a response from the secretariat of the Forest Climate Standard published.
C-property, principles, baseline, subsidies
The drafts for C-property, principles, baseline and subsidies were available for feedback from the members of the Forest-Climate Council from September 30 - October 31, 2021 and subsequently in the public consultation process. They are incorporated into feedback documentation and published anonymously after the Public Consultation with a response from the Secretariat of the Forest Climate Standard. The documentation of this public consultation is listed below:
Who owns the carbon in the forest - and who is allowed to market the sink capacity?
Brief description C-property
Can ecosystem services such as the carbon sink of a forest be marketed ? And if so - by whom? How can environmental advertising with reference to the use of climate certificates be structured? The legal opinion from the law firm Redeker provides us with answers based on the legal system applicable in Germany.
Description of the media
The following documents were made available to the IPCC and the public for criticism, feedback and suggestions:
-
Study, Kanzlei Redeker:"Marketability of the carbon sink performance of forests, with special consideration of the ownership situation in Germany"
-
Statement of the law firm Redeker on the study (video and presentation)
-
Graphical Recording of the corresponding workshop during the 1st Conference of the Forest Climate Council
Principles: The foundation of every standard
Brief description Principles
Principles are the basis of any quality standard. In order to determine what the principles for a forest climate standard in Germany should look like, international studies by McKinsey, WWF, the Öko-Institut, ICROA and four international and national climate standards were compared with each other.
Based on this analysis, a first draft of the principles of the forest climate standard to be developed for Germany was derived.
Description of the media
The following documents were made available to the IPCC and the public for criticism, feedback and suggestions:
-
Draft, Ecosystem Value Association:"Analysis and derivation of principles for the forest climate standard in Germany"
-
Presentation of the design (video and presentation)
-
Graphical Recording of the corresponding workshop during the 1st Conference of the Forest Climate Council
Baseline: How much CO2 would be stored if the forest were to reforest without humans?
Brief description Baseline
The tool (software) developed by Forliance as part of the study makes it possible to determine in five steps the potential carbon storage on a project area that would occur if there were no human intervention.
The associated study describes the scientific basis of the parameters assumed in the tool.
Description of the media
The following documents were made available to the IPCC and the public for criticism, feedback and suggestions:

Study, FORLIANCE:

Presentation by FORLIANCE (video and presentation)
-

Subsidies: State subsidies and proceeds from climate certificates - is that possible?
Brief description of subsidies
This statement provides a legal classification of proceeds from climate certificates on the voluntary market with regard to the funding law applicable in Germany. Particular attention is paid to the question of whether and to what extent mixed financing of forest climate projects is permissible.
